Retest Re-Examinations



• If the vehicle stays at the test station which failed the vehicle, to be repaired
No Additional Fee (Partial Re- Examination)

• If the vehicle is brought back to the same test station and retested before the end of the next working day on one or more of the following items only:
No Additional Fee (Partial Re-Examination)
ABS Warning
Bootlid
Brake Pedal Antislip
Direction Indicators
Doors
Dropsides
Emissions
Fuel Filler Cap
Hazard Warning
Headlamp Aim
Horn
Lamps
Loading Door
Mirrors
Rear Reflectors
Registration Plates
Seat Belts (But Not Anchorages)
Seats
Sharp Edges or Projections
Steering Wheel
Tailboard
Tailgate
VIN
Windscreen and Windscreen Wipers/Washers

Only one Free Partial Re-Examination is permissible per full examination

• A Class IVA or VA that passes on seat belt installation, but fails on other areas of the test, maybe re-tested at the same test station as Class IV or V - the extent of test and fees are as for Class IV or V.

• In any other case full re-examination - Full Fee

• Appeal test fee - Full Fee

Appeals
• If you wish to appeal against refusal to issue a test certificate for your vehicle:

• Ask for a form (VT17) - obtainable from this testing station.

• Send the form, with a further full test fee to reach the Vehicle & Operator Services

• Agency office shown below within 14 working days of the refusal notice.

• If your appeal is successful, the fee or, if appropriate, part of it will be returned to you.

• Do not have your vehicle repaired before your appeal is considered. This is because any change to your vehicle may affect the outcome of the appeal.
