No. The central locking does not need to be workin. The car door still opens with a kew it will be fine. This is not a safety feature to the car it is just an added extra



Headlights
i have contenental headlights on my mg zr from when i bought it in germany.will this fail me

Yes you will probably get failed. This is because that the lights are configured differently



Expiry Date
my expiry date says 1509 so can i drive it on this date or not? is it valid for that day?

Yes you can drive it on the expiry date untill midnight



MOT France
What is the proceedure for having a MOT test on vehicles whilst in France from UK.

You have to come to back to the uk to get the mot completed. You will have to arrange it to be done for the day you bring the car back into the UK, unless the car will be illegal in the UK. If the car is staying in france you will have to register the car there



Mods
my car is modifyed it has the following fullbody kit new front seats undercar neon lights new feet pedals racing steering wheel. will it fail with the modifications? or will it be alright if everything is installed properly

yes as long as your horn is still working with the new stearing wheel and that everything is securely fitted, and does not change the spec of the car.

Lost Mot
Can I find out when my MOT is due if I have lost my certificate?

Yes The simplest way is to go back to the garage where the vehicle was tested, tell them the approximate date of the test and they should be able to give you a duplicate certificate. The fee is 10.00.

No your car will fail on this, you need working hazard lights

Yes this is a failure if the tester sees the problem and it will have to be fixed before the MOT



Brakes
I have a rover 75 and when braking I can hear a popping noise.. the car drives fine and brakes ok.

I would get the noise checked by a garage, but no this is not an automatic failure. As long as the car meets the stopping distances set out in the mot and the brakes are not leaking and have good brake pads it will pass an MOT



Imports/emissions
i own a 1993 impreza classic import turbo does it have to have a cat fitted and can it be failed on emissions

Your import does not have to have a CAT fitted but it will be expected to pass on the emissions and it will do through the full emissions test.



Exhausts
My BMW 320D Touring has a rattly exhaust, its not leaking and the silencer works fine, but at idle the exhaust vibrates and rattles, will this fail the MOT?

No a rattle on the exhaust will not fail. It will fail if is in danger of falling off. As long as it does not effect the noise levels and emmissions levels it will pass.
